Madilu Systems was a popular Congolese soukous musician, born as Jean-Bedel Masudi in 1952 in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. He started his career in the 1970s as a member of Franco Luambo Makiadi's band TPOK Jazz.
Madilu Systems rose to fame as a solo artist in the 1980s and 1990s, releasing several successful albums and collaborating with other famous Congolese musicians such as Tabu Ley Rochereau and Papa Wemba. He was known for his smooth voice and emotional singing style, earning him the nickname "L'or d'Ekoti te" (the gold that does not rust).
Some of his notable songs include "Sansa Ya Papier," "Mario," and "Pesa Position." Madilu Systems' music was loved by fans across Africa and around the world, and he remains a legend in the Congolese music scene. Unfortunately, he passed away in 2007 at the age of 54, but his music continues to be celebrated and enjoyed by many.
